Solace The Bed and Breakfast

November 4, 2015 by Maryland B&B Association

Solace The Bed and Breakfast is very peaceful and quiet on the Hoke Family Farm nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of North-central Maryland near Westminster.  Guests will enjoy a comfortable stay in one of four spacious bedrooms in the farm house or in the recently reinvigorated log house. A sumptuous country breakfast is served in the large dining room and other refreshments are available during the day in the adjoining butler’s pantry.  Other areas for guests are a family-sitting room with TV, a roomy front porch where sunsets can be viewed, a screened porch overlooking the Big Pipe Creek where sunrises can be enjoyed and weather permitting, breakfast might be served.  The owners share the farm with a friendly pet therapy dog – Willie, four lively goats – Elwood, Phoebe, Ozzie, and Benny, and a red Angus heifer – Eve, her heifer – Angelina, and calf – Ferrous.  Solace is secluded yet not far from local attractions and events.
Guests may experience a rich history of Civil War sites such as Gettysburg (40 minutes away) and other areas as well as the history of farming in Carroll County.  There are many sites within short distances for guests to enjoy – antiques, wineries, tours, museums, and colleges.
